In the year
1960, Mr. Gurumukh Das Somani established a humble beginning to
manufacture and sell "sherbets" from his household premises
and started delivering the same at their doorsteps of his customer
The moto was consistent quality with strict controls at all stages
of production. Gradually he also opened two tea stalls in the
city and started doing brisk business. Around 1985, Narendrabhai
joined his father and consolidated the position by venturing into
the distributorship and supplying of ice creams and fresh juices
to estabilished caterers of that time.
The consistent interaction with other caterers during the course
of his business, Narendrabhai being a fast learner dreamt and
laid the foundation "of his own catering, company. During
this time Narendrabhai happened to supply ice cream for a particular
function and overheard raving veiws about the new varieties of
food supplied by the host. Getting inquisitive, Narendrabhai came
to know that the caterers were on a contractual visit from Delhi.
Narendrabhai lost no time in contacting them and hired them the
next day and rests his history.
1987 onwards Narendrabhai and his team started taking small orders
and believed in executing it excellently. 'Like father like son'
Narendrabhai delivered consistent quality and Bhagwati Chat &
Ice cream parlour became synonymous with authentic, and quality
food and Bhagwati Chat became the 'pioneer' in quality out-door
caterers.
At decade later in 1997, Bhagwati Caterers (P) LTD wa-launched
and a 'state of the art' centralized kitchen was opened by an
out-door caterer (first time in India) with a capacity to produce
ten thousand meals per day It was one of its kinds with automated
kitchen equipment , customized transport vehicles, and the personnel
producing pure, safe and hygienic variety of cuisine from all
over the world, namely : Punjabi, Rajasthani, South Indian, Gujarati,
Oriental, European, Arabic & not to miss the Ayurvedic food.
The revolutionary instinct in Narendrabhai, discovered a novel
but traditional way of producing & marketing The delectable
cuisine using a melange of crockery and cutlery designed and produced
by famous designners from the globe.
